Things I have Been Doing For the Past Two Months

Once again, after a two-month hiatus I'm finally back! (not that anyone cares, really)

So what have I been doing these past two months? Well for one thing I've...

  • ...made a puzzle-platformer about the Harlem Globetrotters in an unsuccessful attempt to get an internship with Firaxis.
  • ...beaten Diablo III
  • ...played way too much TF2
  • ...played not enough A Valley Without Wind
  • ...bought Persona 3: FES
  • ...read some hilariously bad fanficiton.
  • ...developed house rules for a Shin Megami Tensei: Persona-themed game of The Dresden Files RPG
  • ...started two Play-By-Post RPGs; Kingdom Hearts-themed Mutants and Masterminds game, and a Persona-themed Dresden Files RPG game.
  • ...got Netflix and watched way too many episodes of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
  • ...started a Homestuck-themed graphics pack for A Valley Without Wind
  • ...done jack-squat on my Dungeons of Dredmor mod.
  • ...read Flex Mentallo: The Man of Muscle Mastery, and really enjoyed it even if I only had the vaguest idea what was actually going on. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes really confusing comic books
  • ...written some stuff for The SCP Foundation.
I'm probably going to go into more detail about this stuff in future blog posts, this is just an overview of what I've been up to.

Dredstuck: ...wait, you mean you were still working on it?

After months and months of not-particularly-hard work, the first version of Dredstuck, my Homestuck-Themed Dungeons of Dredmor mod is complete!

As mentioned previously, this version focuses on adding skills and items based on Dave Strider in the form of the "Hipsterology" skilltree, which gives powerful, melee-oriented stat buffs in exchange for dehibilitating penalties. It also gives starts you with the Broken Caledscratch, which can potentially be crafted into one of the beast weapons in the game!

It also implements something I like to call "True Alchemy", which provides special recipes that allow you transmute crafting materials!

If you saw my last post, then you already know about Flash Step and Unbelievably Ill Jams, but what about the new skills? Let's go over them, shall we?

Infinite Dream Struggle Arena X: Black Knights Vs. Celestial Being

Yet another month has passed and I still have no progress to report on anything. While I have plans to work on some stuff in the near future, I don't want to make any promises because whenever I say I'm going to do something I usually end up doing the complete opposite.

So to pass the time I decided to start this strange little feature; I'm going to try my best to answer the age-old question of "Who would win in a fight" between our favorite fictional characters and organizations.

Now I know this isn't exactly a new idea, it's been done many times before, and I'm not bringing anything new to the table. But hey; it's all in good fun.

So without further ado, let me present...

Tonight's matchup...

Celestial Being
(Gundam 00)
Vs.
The Black Knights
(Code Geass)

IN THE RED CORNER CORNER, WEIGHING IN AT TEN HUNDRED THOUSAND TONS OF STEEL AND DETERMINATION, THEY'VE CORNERED THE MARKET FOR "CRAZY ENOUGH TO WORK", GIVE IT UP FOR THE BLAAAAAACK KNIIIIIGHTS!

AND IN THE BLUE CORNER, AT FIVE MILLION POUNDS OF OPTIMISM WITH JUST A DASH OF HYPOCRISY, THE HEROES THAT EVERYONE WANTED BUT NOBODY ASKED FOR, CELESTIALLLLLL BEIIIIINNNG!
